Monthly Focus:
Each month we will take time to highlight areas that speak holistically to our readers. Areas that will increase knowledge, infuse skills, and provide opportunities to change our world. During the month of December, we will highlight two areas, Universal Human Rights Month and National Grief Awareness Month.
National Grief Awareness Month highlights the importance of the process of grief and connects individuals with resources that will help in this process. During this month we raise awareness in this area and encourage you to help someone else in this process.
In Spring of 2023 Rhema will host a 13-week grief support program/group. Supporting one another through this process, a safe space will be provided, and resources given to help individuals through their grief journey.
For more information regarding this group contact Elder Pastor Edward Poindexter at epoindexter@rhemafamily.com.
Universal Human Rights Month
On December 10th the world will recognize Human Rights Day, marking the date in 1948 that the U.S. adopted the Universal Declaration Article I of the 1948 Universal Declaration of Human Rights by the United Nations states, “All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights.”
Sadly, many people around the world have not experienced this truth. They face discrimination and persecution because of race, national origin, gender, religion, age, language, or other status.
At Rhema Christian Center we support the ongoing cause of human rights around the world and are doing as the scripture commands us, “Learn to do good; Seek justice, Rebuke the oppressor; Defend the fatherless, Plead for the window.” Isaiah 1:17
